Yuichi leads Edelman Global Advisory (EGA) Japan. He has more than 20 years’ experience working in communications, marketing, finance and public affairs with leading Japan-based companies and with Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Prior to joining EGA, Yuichi worked with ORIX Corporation as head of that firm’s Government Relations/Public Affairs Team in the Corporate Communications Department in Tokyo. In that capacity, he was responsible for the overall policy and public affairs of the ORIX Group which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and one of largest diversified financial services companies in the world. His work at ORIX focused on developing and implementing public affairs initiatives in the energy, automotive, and financial sectors. In carrying out that work, he relied on an extensive network of high-level contacts in the political, economic, academic and non-governmental arenas. He also held a number of other positions with ORIX during his more than 15-year career with that company, including serving for two years as Manager in the Sales Department at ORIX China Corporation in Shanghai.

Yuichi was seconded to METI in 2015 where, for more than two years, he was a Researcher and Project Manager in the Macro Economic Affairs Division of the Economic and Industrial Policy Bureau. During his tenure with METI, he analyzed and reported on political developments, changes in the domestic and overseas macro-economic environment, and developments in various Japanese industry sectors, including financial markets.

He started his career at Fujitsu Limited as an Assistant Project Manager in the System Integration Business Development Department.

Yuichi has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Keio University. He also attended the Chinese language program at East China Normal University. .
