Matt is a former Assistant Deputy Minister with the Government of British Columbia, having served under three different administrations and two political parties.

He is an exceptional government relations, strategic issues and crisis, stakeholder engagement, communications and advocacy expert who has been providing Premiers, Ministers, Deputy Ministers and private sector corporate leaders with executive counsel and advice for more than 20 years.

Mr. Gordon’s career highlights include providing executive level leadership and strategic advice on several major files such as the Site C final investment decision, BC’s Climate Leadership Plan, government’s response to the Chilcotin supreme court decision on First Nations title and government’s handling of the 2014 tailing pond failure at Mt. Polley mine.

During Mr. Gordon’s time as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Corporate Priorities and Communications Operations with the Government of British Columbia, he also managed a multi-million dollar budget and was accountable for almost 200 communications professionals across government in more than 20 ministry offices.

Having worked for many years at senior ranks in central government, Mr. Gordon has a deep understanding of the policy process of government and provides clients with exceptional insight and awareness of how to advance your policy or regulatory agenda and navigate through what can often be a daunting and complex bureaucratic and political process.
