Jeff Polowin serves as Managing Director, Municipal Affairs. Prior to his role at Edelman, Mr. Polowin served as Senior Vice-President at Hill+Knowlton Canada.

Mr. Polowin specializes in national issue-based communications strategies to support government relations activities and municipal government lobbying. He has provided communications counsel and media relations expertise to national associations, multinational corporations, special interest groups, pharmaceutical companies, educational institutions, hospitals, and a number of high-profile Ottawa-based businesses. In addition, he handled the media relations for high profile visits to Ottawa by Mikhail Gorbachev and Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates. He joined the agency following a six-year tenure at Ottawa City Hall. From 1985 to 1991, he was senior advisor and director of communications for the Office of the Mayor - responsible for media relations, speech-writing, and communications policy. He also carries with him an extensive network of local contacts, and knowledge of how municipal government works.

Prior to his years in the mayor’s office, he was the director of public relations for the United Way of Ottawa-Carleton and worked as an on-air television personality in Sudbury and Ottawa.
