Amaia Betelu is President of EGA Brussels. Ms. Betelu has fifteen years of experience in government relations and public affairs and leads the work of several clients in the extractive industries and technology sectors at Edelman Brussels.

She also assists clients in developing communications and advocacy campaigns at national and European level and launching thought leadership platforms. As part of the public affairs and communications strategies she helps defining and developing, Ms. Betelu enjoys connecting the national to the European and international levels and vice-versa. Ms. Betelu leads the energy, industrials and sustainability work in Brussels. Her long experience in advising a broad portfolio of clients on their communications strategies towards EU and national decision-makers and influencers has included several award-winning campaigns.

Before her consulting career, Ms. Betelu was a member of the EU’s Economic and Social Committee (EESC) for six years representing a trade union. Proud of her Basque heritage, Ms. Betelu is passionate about women’s rights and particularly girls’ access to education. She loves reading and travelling as well as spending time in San Sebastian with her family and friends.
