On October 12, 2022, Conservative Party of Canada Leader Pierre Poilievre unveiled his new shadow cabinet, made up of 51 critics and 20 associate critics. In the announcement, Poilievre positioned his team as the one to take on “Trudeau and his costly coalition” by fighting against “Justinflation”, tax hikes, and the cost-of-living crisis.

This shadow cabinet is more notably diverse than previous cabinets, including the first visible minority to serve as Shadow Minister of Finance, and with more women than previous shadow cabinets. Notable appointments include two of Poilievre’s former leadership race rivals: Scott Aitchison was named Shadow Minister for Housing, Diversity, and Inclusion, while Dr. Leslyn Lewis was named Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Communities.
