On October 13th, the new Parliament took in its first session the steps to make possible the formation of the Government: the election of the presidents of the two chambers. Ignazio La Russa was elected President of the Senate on the first ballot, while in the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana was elected President in the fourth round of voting on October 14th.
