India submitted its updated Nationally Determined Contribution under the Paris Agreement to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, emphasizing that it is a step forward toward its long-term goal of reaching net zero by 2070.

It now stands committed to reducing the emissions intensity of its GDP by 45 percent by 2030, from the 2005 level, and achieving about 50 per cent cumulative electric power installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030. To further a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, 'LIFE - Lifestyle for Environment’ has been added to India’s NDC as a key to combating climate change.

EGA India have prepared a briefing on India’s Nationally Determined Contribution and opportunities for businesses to collaborate on India’s climate goals.
