Argentina's 2023 General Election Results
Sergio Massa of Unión por la Patria, Argentina's ruling party, won the most votes in the General Elections on Sunday, October 22, but not enough for an outright presidential victory. As a result, a second round of elections between Massa and the libertarian candidate, Javier Milei, on November 19 will decide Argentina's next president.
The second round will see both candidates seek to expand their support base among the almost 34% of the electorate that did not vote for them, including those in the private sector and the business community.
Economic standstill, high inflation, multiple exchange rates, and the need to strengthen the country's weakened international reserves are the main challenges that the next president must tackle.
