Deborah Lehr, CEO & Managing Partner at Edelman Global Advisory, is an accomplished global business strategist who has helped firms and organizations succeed in the world’s most complex markets. Currently, she also serves as vice chairman of the Paulson Institute, advising on U.S.-China relations, green finance and sustainability.

Previously, Ms. Lehr helped build three successful consulting businesses, including as founding partner of Basilinna, president of Stonebridge China, and partner of Mayer Brown, a top-ten law firm. She was also senior advisor to the CEO of Merrill Lynch, and senior managing director at the New York Stock Exchange focused on emerging markets.

While serving in the U.S. government, Ms. Lehr was deputy assistant U.S. Trade Representative for China and also director of Asian Affairs at the National Security Council. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and also serves on advisory boards at the Middle East Institute, the London School of Economics, the Archaeological Institute of America and Sesame Workshop.

Ms. Lehr is the founder and chairman of the Antiquities Coalition, which works with governments worldwide to stop antiquities trafficking that supports terrorism and organized crime. For her work, Ms. Lehr received the prestigious Hadrian Award from the World Monument Fund and was featured on UNESCO’s inaugural list of accomplished women speakers.
