Debora Comenalli Murray serves as Managing Director for International Public Affairs at Edelman Global Advisory. She transferred in 2012 from Edelman’s São Paulo to Edelman’s Washington, D.C. office. She joined the company in July 2008 to lead corporate communications and media relations efforts for GE in Brazil. Today, she oversees the team’s international affairs practice in Washington responsible for building thought leadership and issues management campaigns for clients in business, government and civil society.
Ms. Murray is experienced in international public affairs, corporate communications, thought leadership and issues management. She joined the International Public Affairs team in Washington, DC to manage a number of high-profile projects for Edelman internationally, including assignments for clients such as Shell, Nissan, Bayer, the Obama Foundation, Walmart International, 100 LIVES, The World Gold Council, Syngenta, Experian, ENEL, among others. Most recently, Ms. Murray led communications for the Presidency of the G20 Summit in Argentina and currently leads efforts for the Business 20 Saudi Arabia.
Ms. Murray has directly led global risk management and corporate reputational campaigns across several countries globally. Ms. Murray has been responsible for coordinating PR efforts in conjunction with Edelman’s offices and affiliates throughout Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa.
Prior to Edelman, Ms. Murray worked at IFS, a Swedish global company that supplies business management system solutions, as marketing coordinator for Latin America. In the United States, she worked for the Peruvian Embassy in Washington, DC, and took advanced courses in corporate communications and public relations at Georgetown University. Ms. Murray is fluent in English and Portuguese and has working language capabilities in Spanish. Ms. Murray has a bachelor's degree in social communications, specialized in public relations from UNESP University in Brazil, one of the top three universities in the country.
